growing up, we all had that one spot we loved to hang out—somewhere we felt understood, somewhere that fascinated us, that we could let our preteen angst go & feel at ease. for a long while, that place for me was a local gift shoppe. always smelling strongly of incense & herbs, it was packed floor to ceiling with trinkets, magical ingredients, books, beads, amulets from various cultures, and strange sculptures. looking back, i'm nearly certain it was run by witches—which makes a kind of sense.
NEEDFUL THINGS is complex, spicy, mysterious, and—while not evil or wicked—isn't exactly a "tame" or "safe" scent profile either. a heady, herbal mix reminiscent of an apothecary's chest with astringent lavender, cleansing sage, and tangy, medicinal camphor gives way to a heart of resinous dragon's blood incense, cedar, and sandalwood, tempered by sweetly smooth tonka. certainly recommended for the curious at heart, those hosting sleepovers with their closest friends to practice calling the quarters, or those spending a cozy friday night in with herbal tea & their favorite candle, quietly writing in their grimoire.
